New Distance Record: 19,798.5 km! 🌊🏃‍♂️🏊‍♀️
The My SwimRun Friendship Battle 2026 was bigger, more creative, and more inspiring than ever. Despite cold waters in the north and temperatures reaching up to 38°C, participants collectively covered an incredible 19,798.5 km—around 2,500 km more than last year and a new all-time record. On average, each athlete completed 120 km during the challenge.
In the team competition, the Floating Rockets claimed their third consecutive victory, followed by the international team Come On SwimRun and K&Q Flowmotion 2. The individual titles went to Michael Gerlach, who set a personal record with 811.5 km, and Nargiza Sharipova, who dominated the women’s ranking with an outstanding 666 km.
The event was highlighted by countless joint training sessions, creative team contributions, and an extraordinary 142 km Ultra SwimRun completed by Kreuz & Quer over two days.
Nine athletes also achieved the remarkable feat of completing a SwimRun session on all 31 days of the challenge.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and shared the SwimRun spirit. Together, you made the 2026 edition the most memorable and inspiring one yet. 💙

Friendship Battle – 16 Days completed
Are we going to crack the 20.000 km mark ?
The Friendship Battle got off to a flying start!
In just the first 16 days, participants have already covered an impressive 10.643 km. Even more remarkably, 13 athletes have completed 10 SwimRuns in 10 consecutive days – a fantastic achievement that truly reflects the spirit of the challenge.
There are still 9 athletes in the game for 31 consecutive swimruns in a row !

The Coolest individual Outfit until 13th of June
• Participants can submit pictures on FB with the #myswimrunchampionships until June 13, 24:00
• Voting ends the following Wednesday at 12:00 PM
Award:: Hoodie  from My SwimRun Championships 

Swim Challenge:
The Longest Swim May 30th May -7th June, 2026

• Participants can send their distance separately to Michael Gerlach; Kilometer count must be visible
• The longest swim distance wins, as combined swims in total during one unit
Award: free slot Backwaterman Camp with Martina Bolvary 24th – 26th June 2026
and the winner is Sarah Gollwitzer, Team HighRunners with 14 km in a SwimRun  

In 2026 we do have 23 teams, with 166 starters and 14 nationalities, wow.

The Friendship Battle is not just about numbers. It’s about pushing limits together, supporting teammates across borders, and celebrating the spirit of SwimRun.

We do have Team and individual Challenges

We will highlight them from week to week 

1. The Strong Beginning May 22nd – 31st of May - 10 days challenge 

·       Inidvidually: who manages to make 1 upload per member per day for 10 days in a row ?
 If several entries there is a raffle for it
Award: 1 free slot  Backwaterman  for 28th of June 2026
